Welcome to my blog!

Hi everyone!
Hi everyone!
I'm Nadiye and I'm currently studying primary education. I've been thinking about blogging again. Today seemed like a great day to get started :)
I attended one of a series of workshops this evening organised by my University's Education Society. The workshops are both for pre-service and practicing teachers. During the workshops we will be completing the CSER Digital Technologies online course.
Our guest speakers for the night included Sarah from First Australia and Merrylands East Primary School's principle, John. They were both inspiring! Sarah brought along some robots and discussed the programs that First Australia provides. Kids are able to make their own robots and code - how great can it get? This prompted me to reflect on my childhood. I would have dreamt of such an opportunity. There was one time where I made my own papier mache robot as a pinata for my birthday. I had spray painted it silver (this was when you could buy spray paint from a bargain store). Growing up I thought robots were cool. My favourites were (and still are) Robot B9 from Lost in Space and Gort from The Day the Earth Stood Still. This is perhaps going off topic but I wanted to share some anecdotes.
The principal of Merrylands East Public School, John, talked about how their school uses project based learning. Students are regularly part of programs with other organisations including the Museum of Contemporary Art and Atlassian. The students have even pitched a pool to the local council and been marketing analysts for Taronga Zoo.
